About this work
Wooden model of a slip hook, painted grey, consisting of two parts: a staple, which is fixed with an eye in the floor of the boat, and a key with an eye for the tackle of the davit and a thick end with V-shaped grooves. This cannot pass through the opening of the staple, which is narrowed by thickening legs and clamps the key. Only when the boat is in the water and the tension of the tackle is gone does the key fall by its own weight and release the tackle. The grooves prevent the key from slipping out of the staple.
