Model of a 30-Pounder Carronade on Deck

Model of a 30-pounder carronade on a carriage on a ship's deck section, incomplete. The wooden barrel is 14 cm long and not bored. It has an elevating screw through the grape. The upper sled has a light trapezoidal body with brass fittings and rings, the front and rear are rounded. Against the rear the breech block in brass fittings and on top the track for the elevating screw, at the front the ears with trunnion pin and the swivel bolt running in the groove of the lower sled. The lower sled is a wooden frame, rounded at the front, partially brass-fitted and provided with two bolts. At the rear the lower sled widens and is slightly rounded. In the middle and rear the frame is supported by blocks with wheels: the wheels in the middle run in the longitudinal direction; the rear wheels stand with their axles radial to the swivel bolt.
