Two Models of a 30-Pounder Gun on Deck

Two identical models of a 30-pound cannon on a Marshall carriage on a section of a ship with part of the ship's side, incomplete. The wooden barrel, 22.5-23 cm long, is not bored; it has a flat trunnion with a trunnion ring. The carriage consists of two parts. The front piece is fixed with a pintle bolt in heavy brass brackets to the gunport threshold; it is a heavy wooden block with a transverse roller underneath for trunnioning and a heavy metal sight on top, in the saddle of which the barrel rests. The rear carriage, tapering from the front, consists of two cheeks with four steps each, connected by a sloping knee, a rear axle box, and a bolt through both cheeks in the middle. The trunnion cheeks are attached to the cheeks in front. The axle box is attached to the cheeks with brackets. The model has wooden wheels. The tackle is incomplete.
