About this work

Smooth, round barrel of blued steel, which transitions into an octagonal section at the chamber. At the back of the chamber is a percussion chamber with tapped (partially broken) percussion pan. On the front part of the barrel is a front sight bead. On the underside of the barrel is a flat band, with a recess on the narrow side for the ramrod and two ramrod holders; the whole is attached to the barrel with bolts. The barrel is of fake damascened steel (the pattern of the bands is obtained by etching). The ramrod holders, the flat band at the ramrod holders and the chamber are inlaid with copper in the form of flower and leaf motifs, meander band and geometric motifs.
