About this work

Epaulette consisting of a tongue of gold braid, in which a band of silver braid is woven. On the tongue a fire-gilded button upon which in a stylized wreath two crossed cannons. The oval blade is surrounded by a wider border of gold braid cord with hanging gold fringe. Under side of epaulette of dark blue cloth, stitched with yellow thread. Under the tongue a yellow metal hook. One of the epaulettes has a loose dark blue woolen half-moon-shaped cushion. The other epaulette is provided with a like cushion, which still hangs on one side to the blade. From H.L. Frans, in 1830-1832 with the 1st battalion field artillery, field battery No 12.
