About this work
Officer's marine sabre. The blade has a broad fuller and is decorated with ornaments of anchors and marine emblems, with inscription: P. knecht Solingen. The grip is of cast copper and bone with copper wire wrapping. Decorated with a trophy guard. Shield butt plates with anchor and laurel wreath. Pommel in the form of a lion's head. With sabre tassel and black leather scabbard with decorated copper mount depicting anchor and rings. From J.C. Koopman.
