About this work

Knight's Cross of the Order of the Netherlands Lion, consisting of a gold-colored decoration with four white-enamelled arms. In the center of the decoration lies a gold-colored medallion depicting the Netherlands Lion. Between the arms are gold-colored stylized W's. On the reverse, the medallion is blue-enamelled with the inscription VIRTUS NOBILITAT. At the ends of the arms are beaded points. Above the cross is a gold-colored crown attached to a ring. At the top of the ring is a Nassau-blue ribbon with two white vertical stripes attached.
