About this work
Device for visually representing the motion of the sun, earth, moon and planets. The stand is a table on four short legs with a brass gear mechanism under the tabletop from which a rod protrudes on which a crank (-4) can be slid. On the tabletop are names and symbols of constellations and the twelve months. In the center a stepped tripod. On this belongs the sun (a gilded sphere: -5).
