About this work
Hooker. Model, 18th century. In the 17th century, hookers were used both as fishing boats and as cargo ships in trade with England, France, North Germany, and the Baltic countries. These relatively small vessels even sailed to Asia. The VOC used hookers in the local trade network, transporting goods between various Asian regions.
