Mace of the St. Joris Doelen in Alkmaar

Twisted staff with a handle. On the long unprofiled section, four silver plates in the shape of coats of arms are nailed: a crowned coat of arms (Prince Maurice), a coat of arms with a crenellated tower behind water (Alkmaar), a helmeted coat of arms with a house mark and above it the inscription: A / D / D / I (probably Adriaen Dirckzoon de Iong, captain of the old militia in Alkmaar), and a coat of arms with a cross (St. George's Cross). Both ends of the staff in the form of a ball with a rim around it; the upper one with a cap.
