About this work

Open helmet with etched ornaments, as well as the cheek pieces. The ornaments, largely armor trophies, along with two medallions depicting: a kneeling warrior receiving a lance from an angel, and a warrior commanding another who kneels in prayer before him. Description Muiderslot: Morion helmet with pear-shaped bowl richly decorated with trophy and vine motifs in vertical bands. These bands are interrupted by cartouches depicting - on the right - a knight with a victim kneeling before him, and - on the left - a kneeling knight receiving a polearm from an angel. The helmet bowl has front and back neck protection with vine motifs and hinged cheek pieces. These are decorated with trophies.
