Percussion army pistol, Model 1820. Barrel: smooth, round barrel, which transitions into a pentagonal section at the chamber. A percussion pan is screwed into the top of the chamber. On the breech of the barrel: M.1820. Marked on the barrel: S (crown above), CD, and PB. At the muzzle, on the underside, an eye for the (missing) ramrod assembly, cf. e.g. NM-4862. Lock: Originally a flint battery lock; the brass pan has been sawn off. Percussion hammer. The lock is marked: 21, S, and a crown above each other. Wood: walnut. Fittings: brass. At the front of the stock is an openwork sleeve for attaching the barrel; on the left side this sleeve is connected to the front lock screw; backplate; trigger guard; butt cap. An iron band at the top and bottom of the stock neck.
