About this work

Officers' model cavalry sabre with hilt and scabbard, from the heavy cavalry M 1849. Worn by W.J.K. Ridder van Rappard. Blade long, straight, and double-edged. On one side inscription: 'ME FECIT' and on the other: '1534'. The scabbard has two bands and loose rings. The blade is probably not authentic.
