About this work

Saber of the lancers? Dragoon blade with two fullers. Not fitted for a saber. On one side of the blade etched 'The 1st Regt Lancers to the 2nd Lt. W.C.H. van Rappard', on the other side 'As a token of approval for given military instruction 1843-1844'. With steel scabbard. One fixed and one loose ring.
