About this work

Saber, light cavalry no. 1, model 1814, with which Lieutenant-Colonel E.A. Merckx commanded the 5th Regiment of Light Dragoons at Quatre-Bras. The saber is double-edged, over 34 cm at the point. Engraved with the English coat of arms and below 'mensoit. Gill's Waranted'. No wings but reinforcement in the corner of the guard. A side bar is missing.
