About this work
Silver medal. Obverse: a soldier leaning on a shield and that of France at his feet, holding a trident aloft with a laurel wreath; behind him a unicorn and lion, and in the background a naval battle within an inscription. Reverse: the officers of the combined fleet in a sea-chariot, one with a sword, the other with a trident; in the background a fortress, a naval battle, and Louis XIV fleeing his sea-chariot within an inscription.
