Obverse: man stamping with an enormous pestle with the inscription "1700 scholars finely ground, carried by servants in baskets and thrown into a mortar, scholars emerging from the mortar in the background with plates with the inscription 1699" within a double inscription; margin: inscription. Reverse: inscription.
