About this work
Silver medal. Obverse: Gallia, in the guise of a mourning woman seated on a throne next to a felled tree from which a French coat of arms hangs, with a lily fallen within the legend, above the inscription. Reverse: shield with inscription between palm and laurel branches and below crowns and wreaths; on the left Victory blowing a trumpet, on the right the river god Scheldt with a ship's rudder, leaning on a water jug within the legend; edge inscription.
