About this work
Lead medal, trial piece? Obverse: head of a classicist woman to the left, with upraised hair, merging into an elephant's head, wearing a small crown on her head. Reverse: inscription within a myrtle wreath, slightly raised from the field. Unlike the final medal, the obverse lacks the representation below the head (antique rudder), the inscription, and the medal is almost flat. The surface is rough on both sides.
