About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: genius with a flame on his head, representing Humanity, wears a lion's skin over his shoulder; in his left hand he holds a club crowned with a liberty cap, with his other hand he performs a sacrifice on a burning altar, the base of which bears an XP monogram; above appears, illuminated by a radiant All-Seeing Eye, Astrea, seated on clouds, with scales in equilibrium, palm and olive branches in her hands; at her feet lies a cornucopia of plenty; in the background Neptune with a trident, standing in a sea chariot within an inscription; edge: inscription. Reverse: inscription illuminated by heavenly light.
