About this work
Bronze medal. Obverse: two crowned women, representing the Netherlands with a Mercury staff and Belgium with a flower branch, where bees swarm around, embrace each other; next to them trampled helmeted Bellona with a rod bundle in hand, a soldier lying on the ground within an inscription; section: legend and signature on a banner. Reverse: two crowned coats of arms, illuminated by heavenly light with a year in it, united by garlands and plaitwork; behind them two flags and two standards, and two lying lions, of which only the left one wears a crown above a legend within an inscription.
