About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: Winged Victory, standing with foot on a cannon, presents a wreath to a standing Dutch maiden wearing a liberty cap on a spear; left: a lion breaking its chains, right: a pile of armor; in the background, the Lion of Waterloo within an inscription; lower edge: date. Reverse: inscription within a wreath of leaves, from which hang seven coats of arms.
