About this work

Silver medal. Obverse: standing on a storm bridge between altar, on which Bible and burning candle stand and whose base wears liberty cap between two swords, and a soldier trampling a weapon trophy with plumed helmet, shield and with two wreaths around sword a club and a sabre; cut: legend. Reverse: inverted sword, from which baldrick hangs surrounded by leaf wreath, in front of two crossed fasces with axes, resting on altar, whose base wears citadel between two cannons; left: Mercury with staff and cornucopia, right: Victory with laurel wreath and cornucopia; at feet of altar: two lying lions; far left: letters S, right: letter C.
