Silver medal. Obverse: woman with a laurel wreath and a half-unrolled sheet of paper in her hands, seated on a block of stone within an inscription; margin: inscription. Reverse: helmeted coat of arms, draped with the orders of the Legion of Honour and of the Union; on either side a hand holding a sword: behind it an ermine mantle under a crown within an inscription.
