About this work
Brass medal. Obverse: cloth merchant, standing behind a counter in his shop, measuring fabric with an ell; left and right: man and woman; between them, on the counter: number 44 above a compartment containing number 44 within an inscription. Reverse: crowned bottle above a hat; around it: spectacles, snuffbox, comb, two strands of knitting yarn, etc., above the year within an inscription.
