About this work

Photo album with 28 pages containing a total of 72 photographs, of which 64 are cartes-de-visite, 7 are cabinet photographs and 1 is a photograph on cardboard of a different format. Each page contains either 4 passe-partouts for cartes-de-visite or 1 passe-partout for a cabinet photograph. Not all passe-partouts in the album are filled. Depicted are portraits of unknown men, women and children. The name of one of the sitters is known: Adeline Montpellier-van den Berghe. The photographs were made by various photographers, including Joseph Maes (10), Jules Géruzet (9) and Joseph Dupont (10). Three of the photographs in the album are anonymous. Presumably all the photographs were made by Belgian photographers.
