Photo album with famous persons with 157 photographs

Photo album with portraits of well-known people. The album contains 25 leaves with gold on the edges and insert passe-partouts in carte-de-visite format. There are 4 windows on each page but they are not all filled. In total the album contains 157 photographs, mainly portraits. Part of these are writers including: Charles Dickens, Victor Hugo, William Shakespeare and Lord Byron. Part of these portraits are reproductions of paintings made by Sophus Williams. The album also contains portraits of actors, dancers and opera singers such as: Anna Judic, Céline Montaland, Alice Regnault and Marie Heilbron. The album also contains a number of portraits of people with dwarfism, including a series of the wedding couple Tom Thumb and Lavinia Warren photographed by Mathey Brady in 1864. Well-known manufacturers are: Nadar, Legé & Bergeron, Carjat & Cie. and Disdéri. But the manufacturers of all photographs are not known. There is 1 loose photograph at the back of the album.
