Depicted are portraits of members of a French family. For some of the photos, the name of the person portrayed is mentioned under the passe-partout. The surnames Ernie, Verluise, Arvisenet, Epaulard, and Guétin are mentioned several times. The photos were made by various photographers, including L. Larger, Jamin, and Eugène Pirou.
