About this work
Photo album with 27 leaves containing a total of 18 cartes-de-visite in passe-partouts. Each page contains a rectangular passe-partout framed with red lines. One of the nineteen passe-partouts in the album is empty. The album was bought empty by collector L.J. Hartkamp and filled by him with cartes-de-visite. Depicted are portraits of men, women, and children in Romanian folk costume. The photos were made by the photographers F. Duschek (2) and Carol Popp de Szathmari (16). On the back of the album, the name Antoine Maitre is embossed.
