About this work

Photo album in green linen binding with the word 'Album' printed on the front cover. The album contains 12 cardboard leaves in which 22 photos are inserted in passe-partouts. They are childhood photos of the children of the Van der Kop family from Schoonhoven, namely the twins Ad (1901-1963) and Johanna (1901-1964), their younger brother Han (1903-1934, winner of the Prix de Rome for painting in 1931), and of their mother W.G. Hoogendijk and family members. The exposures were presumably made by the father W.C. van der Kop. The family album comes from the possession of his son, artist Ad van der Kop.
