Photo Album of Gerard Aalbersberg

Photo album in red linen binding with the title 'Album' printed in ornate gold letters on the front cover. The album contains 37 photographs on 32 cardboard sheets. Unused sheets are at the back. The album was compiled by the physician and amateur photographer Gerard Aalbersberg (1870-1934). It includes a view of the Oudezijds Achterburgwal, landscapes in the Veluwe near Nunspeet, groups, folk types (Hendrikje, the mourner of 't lijk), and a photo story staged by friends in an Amsterdam park. There are photos of friend groups including the artist Jan Kleintjes (1867-1938) and his wife Hedwig in a house with, among other things, Japanese prints, and photos taken at the tennis park De Bataaf in The Hague. Other names mentioned are W. Wybrants, G. Gaaymans, Stien and Suze. Pets Tom and Fritsje are also photographed.
