About this work

Photo album with 32 pages containing a total of 71 photographs. The album contains 3 cabinet photographs and 66 cartes-de-visite in passe-partouts framed with gold lines, and two loose photographs of different formats at the back of the album. It features portraits of unknown men, women, and children. Only on one carte-de-visite is a name mentioned on the verso, presumably of the sitter. The photographs were made by various Dutch photographers, including J.L.T. Huijsen (11), Josephus Hendrikus Petrus Coppens (12), and the IJpma brothers. The photographer is unknown for 6 photographs.
