About this work
Photo book in reddish-brown cover with 161 numbered pages. The endpapers have a geometric motif. The photo album was presented to the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies, Mr. D. Fock, by the Algemeene Vereeniging van Rubberplanters ter Oostkust van Sumatra (A.V.R.O.S.). Contrary to what the name suggests, this organization also looked after the interests of other planters and cultures in the Dutch East Indies. The album gives an image of the A.V.R.O.S. and the production methods of rubber, tea, coffee, oil palms, fiber, coconut, gambir, and gutta-percha in short texts and 127 photos.
