About this work
Paul, praying at a table, before him a lily in a vase and a sword. In the background, a scene from his life is depicted: the moment of his conversion after falling from his horse. Below the image, a two-line Latin text. This print is part of a series of eight penitent sinners; each print in this series consists of a portrait of a sinner, above him/her a number of (musical) angels in a wreath of clouds, in the background a scene from the life of the respective sinner, below the image two lines of text in Latin.
