About this work
At a road in a hilly landscape sits the veiled Tamar, who receives the seal and bracelets from her father-in-law Judah. Judah does not recognize her and thinks she is a prostitute. Tamar becomes pregnant and can prove through the jewelry Judah gave her that he is the father of her child. After the biblical story from Gen. 38: 1-26. Print from a series of Italian landscapes.
