About this work

The funeral service. The priest holds the Holy Sacrament aloft. On the right in the background an angel saves a soul from purgatory. In the foreground on the left the coffin under a cloth, on the right kneeling men. Print no. 16 from the series of 16 depictions of The Miracle of Amsterdam, based on the events of March 15, 1345. Below the depiction two six-line verses in Latin and Dutch.
