About this work
Christ stands trial before Pilate. The people demand the crucifixion of Christ and Pilate, giving in to the pressure of the crowd, subsequently washes his hands in innocence. Pilate sits on a dais and Christ stands straight before him. He is held with ropes by two soldiers standing on either side of a staircase. With a verse in Latin by Simon Sovius.
