About this work

Allegorical representation with a globe, on a pedestal with a bas-relief, flanked by Father Time (right), with an hourglass on his head and wings on his back and the personified Truth (left), with a sun on her head. Father Time points with one hand to the globe and with the other to an All-seeing eye top left in the background. Behind the globe a third figure, the personification of the lie, who turns away with a burning bundle of sticks in his hand. Proof print of a print from a series of 41 emblems.
