About this work
On the left stand two putti holding hands. The left putto holds a laurel wreath in the air and the right putto holds a lyre, both attributes of Apollo. Beside them stands a beehive as a symbol of industry or diligence next to a crown, a scepter, a mask, and a scroll with the motto of the poets' circle. The putti look towards Mount Parnassus with the radiant Temple of Delphi upon it.
