About this work

Tomb of Admiral Maarten Harpertsz. Tromp in the Old Church in Delft. A statue of the fallen admiral in armor lying on a tomb with a sea battle at Terheide on the frieze. Against the wall, a marble relief with putti holding shields and armor, flanked by columns and military equipment. On top, a list crowned with a coat of arms held by griffins and flanked by tritons or mermaids.
