Jupiter sits at the table, the eagle at his feet. Lycaon flees from him, his head already changed into a wolf's head. With this metamorphosis from man to wolf, Jupiter punished Lycaon for serving human flesh. In the background, Lycaon's house is on fire - a second punishment for the meat meal.
