About this work

Three representations of French defeats in 1812-1813. Above, a French soldier sitting next to a stone marked Wellington makes his will after the defeat of the French in Spain. In the middle, a French soldier is shot by Death near the city of St. Petersburg. Below, a coffin with Death is carried back to Paris, and the funeral procession is shot at from the city of Leipzig.
