About this work

Diana sits naked on the edge of a spring while she is bathed by her nymphs. On the left stands Actaeon, who observes the scene. As punishment he is turned by Diana into a stag. On the right two nymphs flee. In the foreground lie two dogs. At the bottom of the margin a four-line inscription in Latin.
