About this work

In the middle top, a coin with a rider on horseback. Below, a coin with Hercules on one side. Below that, a medal with the head of the Queen of the East, with hair raised, tapering into an elephant's head, wearing a small crown on her head; below, an (antique) rudder with a fish and the VOC emblem, around which a laurel branch is draped. This medal was issued in 1784 in honor of the French Vice-Admiral De Suffren. At the bottom, a coin from 1671. On the obverse, a knight with raised sword seated on a horse galloping to the right, with the provincial coat of arms in the foreground. On the reverse, a crowned coat of arms of the Generaliteit, held by two crowned climbing lions.
