About this work

New Year's print of the Haarlem chamber of rhetoric De Wijngaertrancken, 1600. Centrally a rhomboid representation of the Resurrection of Christ, with the motto: Love above all. Above under a baldachin of grapevines the seated female personifications of Faith (Fides), Love (Charitas) and Hope (Spes). Left and right the arms of Holland and Haarlem. On the pedestal the date 31 December 1600 and a verse of 2 times 8 lines in Dutch with below the dedication in 5 lines in Latin and a rebus.
