Funeral of Field Marshal Paulus Wirtz, 1679

Funeral of Field Marshal Paulus Wirtz in Amsterdam, 24 October 1679. The funeral procession with the hearse winds its way towards the entrance of the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam. At the bottom, a medallion with the portrait of Wirtz on a pedestal, allegorical figures and coats of arms. Bottom right, the legend A-Z. Wirtz died on 23 March 1676 but was buried three years later in Amsterdam in 1679.
