About this work

Vulcanus, at his anvil, hears shocked the news from Apollo, that his wife Venus commits adultery with Mars. Apollo holds his lyre and has a light wreath of sun rays around his head. Bottom right: O. Print from part 1 of a series of prints with emblems, in total consisting of three parts with respectively 23, 17 and 20 prints.
