About this work

Three women, of whom the middle one sits on the ground with bare breasts, are together in a garden. On the ground lie apples. Over the middle woman roses are scattered by two putti. Illustration accompanying a text from the book Christian Offering from 1640. In the text love is celebrated, of which apples and roses are the symbol. In the song preference is given to divine love instead of earthly love.
