About this work

Representation of the element Earth in the form of a naked woman with a wreath of grain on her head, seated between an ox and a basket full of fruit. In the background, several riders engaged in deer hunting. At the top of the representation the word 'Terra' (Earth). Below the representation two lines of text in Latin. This print is part of a series of the four elements, each represented by a personification, behind whom figures perform actions associated with the respective element. Each representation has a two-line Latin caption.
