About this work

In the foreground sits a scantily clad old woman in front of a tree. She personifies Fear (Timiditas). Around her five animals: the lizard, the hedgehog, the hare, the owl and the crow. On the left in the middle ground a woman runs away and another woman covers her face. On the right in the middle ground a woman in handcuffs is in conversation with another woman with a walking stick. In the background beggars at a church (right). The fourth print of a four-part series on negative human characteristics.
